Because every organization has its own unique structure and procedures, Workflow delivers complete flexibility to design the sequence and rules that will drive your workflows, using a simple ‘drag-and-drop’ toolset. Selecting objects from a number of options, the user places them on the ‘canvas’ to represent a series of logical steps in the overall process. These are then connected together to form a process flow.

The Workflow Designer, using .NET v2, allows the processes to be defined that control approvals. It includes the following:

• Templated Workflows (‘Workflow Process Definitions’) are issued as standard meaning you can start to use the system immediately. You can design the sequence and rules that will drive your workflows at a later date if required.
• Extensive support for the following document types: reversing, recurring, cancelling and inter-company.
• Support for either line-level or document-level workflow.
• Expression Builder available for routings and scripting ensuring the flexibility to use the system how you want it.
• Alerting mechanism with SMS & Email - when an item requires attention, the relevant user(s) are alerted via email or SMS and provided a link to a dedicated web-browser window, where they can complete any actions required.
• Out of Office functionality, either decided by position hierarchy or by a specified person.
• Routing is based on application data, transactional data or literal values entered at the design time.
• Ability to create and use sub workflows as well as the ability to add custom steps to workflow designs increasing the flexibility of the system.
• The ‘Windows like’ Copy, Cut & Paste functionality within and between workflow process definitions helps with consistency of workflow and a familiar approach.
