CODA announces completion of phase one in the development of its on-demand Financials, CODA 2go, built on Salesforce.com’s Force.com Platform
- Collaboration with Salesforce.com is delivering results
- End to end sales invoicing process developed
CODA Group, the finance software specialist, today announced it has completed the first phase in the development of CODA 2go, CODA’s powerful global accounting system which will provide companies of all sizes with finance on demand.
Following the announcement of a strategic alliance with salesforce.com at its Dreamforce user and developer conference in September, CODA has already completed development of an end-to-end sales invoicing process built on Force.com, salesforce.com’s Platform-as-a-Service. The new development is an excellent complement to Salesforce CRM applications, allowing users to create an invoice at the click of a button and post the transaction to their Accounts Receivable ledger, simplifying the sales process.
The new CODA 2go product will be unveiled at the first-ever European Dreamforce event in London in May 2008. It will deliver Accounts Receivable as a service to support the order-to-cash process, including generating invoices, posting cash and cash management. Users will be able to turn sales orders in their Salesforce CRM applications into cash more efficiently, manage customer accounts better and reduce working capital requirements.
Sales invoicing represents a successful first phase in a fast-moving product development process. Further releases of CODA 2go on Force.com will cover general ledger, procure-to-pay and other accounting processes, giving full visibility and control over an organisation’s finances. CODA 2go offers the full multi-country, multi-company features that CODA has become synonymous with.
“Using the same agile development methodology as salesforce.com we are pleased to announce this important milestone,” said Debbie Ashton, head of product management at CODA. “We have made use of Visualforce in the development process, which has allowed us to heavily customise the user interface so that for example, invoices are generated in a familiar format for users. The CODA 2go screens will have a similar look and feel as the salesforce.com application, so moving between the finance application and the CRM application will be a seamless experience. We have developed a close working relationship with salesforce.com and we are confident that the final application will be unrivalled in the marketplace given our pedigree in delivering finance systems.”
Salesforce.com’s Visualforce provides a complete framework for building and deploying any kind of user experience, and enabling any kind of interface design and interaction to be built and delivered entirely on demand. These user interfaces can extend the standard force.com look and feel, or replace it with a complete unique style and set of interactions, allowing the power of Platform-as-a-Service can to be extended to virtually any requirement.
Commenting on collaboration efforts, Clarence So, Chief Marketing Officer at salesforce.com said: “CODA has impressed us in its development approach. They are showcasing the power and innovation possible with Force.com and Visualforce. We’re thrilled that customers will be able to take advantage of CODA’s market-leading finance applications on Force.com to extend the benefits of Platform-as-a-Service throughout their enterprise.”
To support development efforts, CODA has today launched a blog designed to provide updates on the development of CODA2go as well as keeping finance and IT professionals and salesforce.com customers abreast of key developments in the on-demand marketplace.
